Why Colors are Important When Getting Dressed?

Colors are ImportantBad color combination is a major fashion faux pas, needless to say. Can you imagine bright orange pants paired with an equally bright neon pink shirt? That ought to be some kind of a traffic sign not a fashion getup! That is something you would imagine wearing only during Halloween. Where outfits are concerned, it is highly important that you know how to color coordinate.Wanting to stand out in a crowd does not mean overdoing your color choices of clothes or even your accessories for that matter. Remember that more is less if only you know how to do it right.

Khakis and whites go together perfectly but you might want to use white for your tops and a khaki pants or skirt. This outfit is so neutral but will stand out if you put on a red belt with matching red shoes. Outfits that are predominantly neutral should be complimented by bright bags or shoes or by multi-toned fashion accessories.

Two different prints don’t make a good fashion statement especially if one has bright, bold prints and the other is made of completely different prints in, let’s say, floral. Not even a table cloth is made this way. The patterned material is okay as a top which should find a perfect match with a neutral bottom such as dark colored pants or leggings if the top is quite long.

Below are some examples of proper combination of colors when getting dressed:

1. Don’t wear colors together that too closely belong in the same shade. Go for a little contrast.

2. Don’t combine dots with floral or stripes with animal prints.

3. Don’t stick to only one color but don’t play with too many colors.

While you are encouraged to experiment with colors when it comes to creating good fashion, keep it to a minimum, not overly excessive.
